FAQ

Most Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about our tree, forestry and lawn maintenance services.

What services does For-Evergreen Ground Maintenance offer in Kalispell, Montana?

We offer both lawn maintenance and tree services within the Kalispell area.

What cities do you provide services to?

We provide services to the entire Flathead Valley. We also provide services outside of the Flathead Valley, but an additional travel fee may apply.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are insured and have a Certified Arborist on staff as a tree service in Kalispell, MT.

How do you communicate with your clients?

We utilize a software system that allows us to send notifications via text, email or both. Clients receive notifications for crew arrival times and estimates. Your communication preference is established from our first point of contact. If you can use at least two of the three contact methods, we are able to communicate with you more quickly.

What locations do you service for recurring lawn maintenance?

We provide recurring lawn maintenance in Kalispell and Whitefish. If your property is outside this area and you still need recurring service, please give us a call.

Do you spray fruit trees?

No, we do not offer pesticide, herbicide or fertilization services for fruit trees at this time. However, we can point you in the direction of someone who does.

Do you provide free estimates?

No, we do not provide free estimates. Our standard on-site estimate fee is $50 and is waived when the proposed work is accepted. Additional travel charges may apply outside our normal service area.

How do I know what is included in my estimate?

Your written estimate clearly lists the work to be completed, cleanup and debris-handling options, equipment included, and any exclusions or optional services.

How often should my trees be pruned?

Tree pruning depends on many factors, such as species, age, size, health, pruning season and location. Typically, trees should be pruned every two to five years. We recommend an in-person visit with one of our arborists because improper pruning can damage your trees.

Do you spray or fertilize lawns?

No, we currently do not offer fertilization, herbicide or spraying services.

I have lots of trees and do not know where to start. What would you recommend?

We recommend a consultation with one of our arborists to guide you down the best path for your trees. We want to educate our clients to support the success of current and future trees. An arborist can discuss suitable tree types, proper spacing and the condition of older trees on your property.

What is the importance of trees on my property?

Trees offer many benefits, including increased property value, environmental protection, improved air quality, temperature control, energy savings and socioeconomic benefits.

Do you do storm work?

Yes, we provide storm cleanup services.

Do you plant or transplant trees?

We plant trees, but we do not transplant trees. Although transplanting has been practiced for decades, the odds of survival can be low because many roots are severed. It may be possible for younger trees, but it is not advised for medium-aged or older trees.

Will your machinery tear up my lawn during tree services?

We use a compact articulated loader to help move debris. The machine is specifically designed to minimize rutting in yards while turning.

Do you prune fruit trees? How often should they be pruned?

Yes, we prune fruit trees. We generally recommend pruning every one to three years, especially when the goal is improved fruit production.
